Today we learnt about the process of Bread Making!
We began in the morning by mixing together our ingredients, then we kneaded the dough, let it prove, and baked it.
We enjoyed baking and eating our bread!

Put in bowl and stir together White Brown
White flour 2c 2c
Salt 2t 2t
Golden syrup 1T
Yeast 2T 2T
Add cold water 1c 1c
Then boiling water 1c 1c
Stir to a smooth past. Stand 2-3 minutes.
Add and mix in
Wholemeal flour 2c
White flour 3c 1c
Add the last cup of white flour slowly. Knead dough in bowl until smooth and elastic (6-8 minutes). Put dough in bowl, cover and put in warm place for 15 minutes. Punch dough down place on floured board and flatten. Cut in half and place in greased tin. Cover and leave to rise in warm place until 2 ½ times in size (1 hour).
Bake at 200 degrees C for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 180 degrees C for a further 10 minutes.
